Meh, Monday: Project 180, Day 9

A bit tired and uninspired on this Monday morning. Staring at the screen trying to capture something isn’t working, so I’m not going to force it. Some days it just doesn’t come to me. Consequently, this 791st Project 180 post will be short and lame. Sorry. Tomorrow will be better. Usually is.

Today’s Trail

Along today’s trail we will experience…

…reconnecting through Smiles and Frowns.

…growing with grammar.

…connecting to others’ stories (Freedom Writers).

…reflecting in our Journey Journals.

…hearing a Sappy Sy Rhyme.

Happy Monday, all. Sorry I came up empty this morning.

Do. Reflect. Do Better.

  1. Hey Monte, This is my first year with Smiles and Frowns. So far, kids aren’t sharing much. is that normal? Worthwhile? The frowns are almost always because they are tired. The smiles are almost always because there is a good lunch. I just need a little encouragement.

    1. Hi, Robin. Yes, I think it is normal. In my experience the depth will come. I encourage you to be patient. I really do think it will eventually get to a place where you feel like you are connecting with the kids on a deeper level and they with each other, too. You might consider trying a prompt on occasion to mix things up a bit. Favorite whatever? What makes you happy, sad, angry? Who’s had a positive influence on your life? Etc. Sometimes kids need a little prompting. Hope this helps. Thank you for reaching out to me. Best of luck. You got this.
